In collaboration with the Financial Services Authority (OJK), the IFCC held a half-day seminar which was attended by around 150 people. This seminar aims to introduce PEFC / IFCC to wider stakeholders, namely to parties related to finance, such as: OJK, Bank Indonesia, bankers and financial services bodies.

Tobasamosir (Antaranews Sumut) - PT Toba Pulp Lestari sebagai perusahaan penghasil bubur kayu secara resmi mendapatkan sertifikat 'Chain of Custody Program for Endorsement Forest Certification' dari lembaga sertifikasi 'societe generale de surveillance Indonesia', sebagi bukti pengelolaan berkelanjutan atas bahan baku yang berasal sumber-sumber yang transparan.
"Sertifikat ini menjadi tonggak sejarah kedua bagi PT TPL dalam menjalankan operasionalnya," ujar Direksi PT TPL, Mulia Nauli, dalam rilis pers yang diterima Antara, Rabu.
Disebutkan, untuk awal tahun 2018, sertifikat tersebut menjadi sertifikat kedua yang diterima pihaknya setelah sebelumnya juga telah mendapatkan sertifikat 'Indonesian Forestry Certification Cooperation' dari lembaga sertifikasi 'Bureau Veritas Indonesia'.
"Keberadaan sertifikat ini adalah bukti dan kepastian pengelolaan hasil hutan tanaman industri yang bekelanjutan, serta kayu hasil panen, sejak awal hingga masuk ke proses produksi menjadi produk bubur kayu yang berasal dari sumber-sumber yang dapat ditelusuri secara transparan dan berkelanjutan," terangnya.
Dijelaskan, keberadaan sertifikat sebagai bentuk pengakuan dari lembaga penguji internasional atas hasil produk PT TPL, tentunya akan berpengaruh positif bagi pasar atau konsumen produk.
Kata Mulia, sertifikat CoC PEFC diserahkan oleh Presiden Direktur SGS Indonesia Shashibhushan Jogani, yang didampingi Manajer Bisnis CBE SGS Indonesia, Johnny A. Koe, dan diterima langsung oleh Komisaris Utama PT TPL, Ignatius Ari Djoko Purnomo, dan Mill VLK & Lab. QA/QC Head PT TPL, Sri Nurhayati pada Senin, 26 Maret 2018, di Jakarta.
"Sertifikat tersebut menjadi jaminan atas sumber bahan baku yang masuk ke pabrik, serta kepastian bahwa produk bubur kayu PT TPL bersumber dari hutan-hutan yang dikelola secara berkelanjutan dan menggunakan bahan-bahan yang diawasi," terangnya.
Selain itu, sertifikasi tersebut juga memastikan bahwa hutan-hutan dikelola dengan mengutamakan aspek lingkungan, sosial, dan ekonomi. Hal ini menjadi sebuah mekanisme yang terverifikasi untuk melacak kayu dari proses pemasokan hingga barang jadi.

Medan, (Analisa). PT Toba Pulp Lestari Tbk (TPL), perusahaan penghasil bubur kertas, menerima sertifikat IFCC (Indonesian Forestry Certification Cooperation) dari lembaga sertifikasi Bureau Veritas Indonesia (BVI), baru-baru ini, di Jakarta.
Sertifikat IFCC ini membuktikan pengelolalan hutan tanaman industri (HTI) yang berkelanjutan memberikan jaminan kepada para konsumen di seluruh dunia bahwa PT TPL memberikan produk hasil hutan yang dikelola secara berkelanjutan.
“Sertifikat IFCC ini menjadi tonggak sejarah bagi PT TPL dalam menjalankan operasionalnya yang berkelanjutan, khususnya dalam pengelolaan Hutan Tanaman Industri/HTI. Sertifikat IFCC ini juga membuktikan bahwa produk PT dari penerapan pengelolaan hutan lestari di Indonesia,” ujar Direksi PT TPL, Mulia Nauli dalam siaran pers yang diterima Analisa, Kamis (1/2).
Mulia Nauli menambahkan, sertifikat IFCC berpengaruh positif memperluas pasar bagi produk PT TPL di dunia. “Kami mengucapkan selamat terhadap pencapaian tertinggi PT TPL dalam menjalankan opersionalnya secara keberlanjutan bagi semua pemangku kepentingannya,” ujar I&F Country Chief Executive BVI, Lontung Simamora.
Serah terima sertifikat IFCC diserahkan oleh Senior Vice President South East Asia-Pacific BV, Serge Antonini dan I&F Country Chief Executive BVI, Lontung Simamora, kepada Komisaris Utama PT TPL, Ignatius Ari Djoko Purnomo, Direksi PT TPL, Mulia Nauli, dan Manajer Lingkungan Fiber PT TPL Mangasi Sianipar.
Dengan didapatnya sertifikasi IFCC ini, menunjukkan bahwa TPL melakukan kegiatan operasional dengan mempertimbangkan aspek produksi yang ramah, memerhatikan aspek ekologi dan lingkungan sekitarnya serta sinergi dengan masyarakat sebagai implementasi aspek sosial dalam melakukan pengelolaan hutan secara lestari, seimbang, dan berkelanjutan.
Sebelumnya, PT. TPL meraih penghargaan level lima atau level tertinggi Green Industry Awards (Penghargaan Industri Hijau) dari Kementerian Perindustrian. Penghargaan ini sebagai bentuk apresiasi serta motivasi pemerintah kepada manufaktur dalam negeri yang telah menerapkan prinsip-prinsip industri hijau dalam proses produksinya.
Baru-baru ini PT TPL juga meraih Proper kategori Biru dari dari Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan yang artinya bahwa perusahaan telah melakukan pengelolaan lingkungan yang Baik sesuai dengan standar yang diwajibkan pemerintah. Proper adalah Program Penilaian Peringkat Kinerja Perusahaan Dalam Pengelolaan Lingkungan yang dikembangkan oleh Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup (KLH) sejak 1995, untuk mendorong perusahaan meningkatkan pengelolaan lingkungannya. With an increase of almost two million hectares of PEFC-certified forests in Indonesia over the past year, the Indonesian Forestry Certification Cooperation (IFCC) took top prize for growth during our PEFC Forest Certification Week award ceremony.
“Without the tremendous support from everyone within the PEFC family and without the strong commitment and hard work from all members of the IFCC family, we would have never arrived at this proud state,” said Dradjad Wibowo, Chairman of IFCC.
“So, IFCC thanks everyone from the PEFC and IFCC families for this! Though we still face huge challenges, we are confident, that together we will prevail," Mr. Wibowo concluded.
In second place was PEFC Finland with an increase of 1.3 million hectares and PEFC Russia in third with 950,000 hectares.
“IFCC only achieved their first certified hectares at the end of 2015, so it’s fantastic to see them win first place just two years later,” said Ben Gunnenberg, CEO of PEFC International, following the ceremony.
“We should soon see even more certified hectares in Indonesia, but this time from community owned forests, as IFCC’s new requirements for community forest management certification come into force.”
We also award the top three members to grow their Chain of Custody certificates.
This year the honor went to Sustainable Green Ecosystem Council (SGEC), our member in Japan, who added 117 Chain of Custody certificates. In second place was PEFC Spain, with PEFC Czech Republic in third.
“I would like to congratulate all our members who took home an award today. It is thanks to their, and everyone else within the PEFC alliance’s, continued work and dedication that PEFC continues to be the world’s leading forest certification system.”

The beauty of Indonesia's forests has its own distinctive features and charms. Capturing it through photos is one of the ways to express its loveliness. IFCC Photo Contest titled "Explore Indonesia Forest with IFCC" was held from 22nd April 2017 (The Earth Day) until 5th June 2017 (The World Environment Day).
"We were surprised by receiving more than 200 photos within 2 weeks after posting the photo contest announcement. As this was the first national photo contest held by IFCC, that was very marvelous moment. At the end of the contest, we received 1,500 of beautiful moments captured by spectaculars Indonesian photographers. The judges worked hardly in selecting the best of the best photos and finally from those photo received, the best 5 photos was announced by IFCC on 18 July 2017", said Zulfandi Lubis, IFCC Executive Director.
Photo of 1st winner: “Our home”Orangutan is the world’s largest arboreal mammal. They live in the canopy of tropical rainforest in Sumatra and Borneo. Listed by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Sumatran orangutan (Pongo abelii) is classified as critically endangered species. Yohan Roy Gratia, the 1st winner of IFCC Photo Contest 2017 “Explore Indonesian Forest with IFCC”, captured the moment of orangutan’s life in Bukit Lawang, Gunung Leuser National Park, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra Province, Indonesia. “Let us protect and preserve Indonesia's diversity and wealth,” he said. Yohan is a self-taught photographer who loves the beauty of nature. He hopes to travel around Indonesia to explore more beauty piece of nature by continuing his passionate work in the world of photography.
Photo of 2nd winner: “The life is beautiful”The 2nd winner, Dika Yudha Rio Pamungkas, is a freelance photographer who has been doing photography since 2010. “Photography makes me feeling lucky to enjoy every single day by taking photos of natural scenery. Because, I believe that photography is an art of observation, about making something extraordinary,” he said. In this competition, he captured the moment of a family enjoying the beauty of Jumog Waterfall, in Karanganyar Regency, Central Java Province, Indonesia. This photo teaches us how to simply enjoy the day and feel grateful of life and nature. He concludes that life is so beautiful as the moment captured in this photo.
Photo of 3rd winner: “The harmonious co-existence between Waerebo native and the forest”Suwandi Chandra, the 3rd winner, is a professional travel photographer from Medan, North Sumatra Province, Indonesia. His interest and passion in nature and adventure has brought him traveling around Indonesia and overseas to capture every single amazing and beautiful moment. His masterpieces in photography are often published in both printed and electronic media, such as: The New York Times, CNN.com, Lonely Planet, Garuda Indonesia Colors, SilkWinds SilkAir, Singapore Airlines Silverkris, Qatar Airways Oryx, and Jetstar Asia. In the IFCC Photo Contest 2017, Suwandi performed his photography showpiece by framing the aerial view of Waerebo Traditional Village located in deep inside of the forest at Manggarai Highland, Flores Island, East Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia. There, many locals are still living their life primitively and depending their aliveness on the forest. His picture titled “The harmonious co-existence between Waerebo native and the forest” has brought the judges to award him as the 3rd winner of the IFCC Photo Contest 2017.
Photo of 4th winner: “Bird Migration”Mushaful Imam is a freelance photographer who also often works as a journalist. His showpiece titled “Bird Migration” has taken him to be awarded as the 4th winner in the IFCC Photo Contest 2017. This bird migration moment was captured in Sembilang, Banyuasin, South Sumatera Province, Indonesia. The bird migration was happened over the top of mangrove forest. Muddy mangrove forest area becomes an option for the birds because of the abundance of food sources.
Photo of 5th winner: “Water Bombing”This picture was taken by Sapto Nugroho who works in the Air Force of Indonesia. His hobby in doing photography has persuaded him to participate in the IFCC Photo Contest 2017 “Explore Indonesian Forest with IFCC”. In this event, his photograph showpiece titled “Water Bombing” has been awarded as the 5th winner. He took the picture in Suligi Hill Forest, Riau Province, Indonesia. Water bombing is a type of aerial firefighting where the firemen are using helicopter to combat wildfires. Besides, helicopter water bombing is also performed for land maintenance especially during dry season.
