Standardization Committee

Standardization Committee

A permanent Standardisation Committee shall be established and dissolved by the Board of Directors. The Standardisation Committee shall report to the Board of Directors. 

The Standardisation Committee composition provides for balanced representation of stakeholders with the aim of building consensus amongst participating interested stakeholders. No single concerned interest shall be allowed to dominate the process nor to be dominated. The Standardisation Committee shall represent at least the following stakeholder categories:
     1. Business and industry relating to forest based products;
     2. Forest owners / managers;
     3. Indigenous people;
     4. Non-governmental organisation (NGO);
     5. Scientific and technological community;
     6. Workers and trade unions;

Note:
The stakeholders categories defined in chapter 4.5.2 are based on nine major groups relevant to the sustainable forest management that have been defined by Agenda 21 of the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) in Rio de Janeiro in 1992: (i) business and industry, (ii) children and youth, (iii) forest owners, (iv) indigenous people, (v) local authorities, (vi) NGOs, (vii) scientific and technological community, (viii) women, and (ix) workers and trade unions.

Didik Suharjito is a Professor at the Department of Forest Management, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). He teaches courses for the students at undergraduate (S1) and postgraduate (S2 and S3) programs, as well as guiding students in preparing essay, thesis and dissertations. He actively conducts researches and produces scientific works.
