Didik Suharjito is a Professor at the Department of Forest Management, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). He teaches courses for the students at undergraduate (S1) and postgraduate (S2 and S3) programs, as well as guiding students in preparing essay, thesis and dissertations. He actively conducts researches and produces scientific works. His scientific works are published in the form of books, seminar papers (both national and international), and journal articles. He completed his undergraduate degree at the Department of Forest Management, Faculty of Forestry, IPB in 1986. His master’s degree (MS) was completed at the IPB Rural Sociology Study Program in 1992; while his doctoral degree (S3) was successfully accomplished at the Anthropology Study Program (with special interest in Ecological Anthropology) University of Indonesia ( UI) in 2002. His areas of expertise are Forestry Sociology, Community Forestry, Etnoforestry, and Ecological Anthropology. He also become a member of national forums and organizations, including the Coordinator of the National Management Board of Community Forestry Communication Forum (FKKM) for the period of 2002-2006, the Chairperson of the FKKM Foundation for the period of 2011-2017, a DPP member of the Indonesian Forestry Scholars Association (PERSAKI) for the period of 2005-2008, the National Coordinator of Indonesian Forestry Academic Houses (RAKI) in 2013 until now, a member of the Presidium of National Forestry Council (DKN) in 2016-2021 (became the Chairperson of the Presidium in 2017-2018), a member of Indonesian Engineers Association (PII); and international forums / organizations including the International Society of Tropical Foresters, Forest History Society, The Commonwealth Forestry Association. During 2005-2013 (two periods) he carried out the mandate as the Head of Forest Management Department of the Faculty of Forestry, IPB. He is also the Head of the Indonesian Forestry Certification Cooperation (IFCC) Standardization Committee during 2012 - 2019.
