Standard is a document comprising of minimum requirement as stipulated based on consensus among stakeholders and approved by the General Meeting Members.

IFCC develops its standards in an open, multi-stakeholder and consensus based process. The standard setting process includes invitation of stakeholders to nominate their representatives to the standardisation committee; setting the standardisation committee; consensus building within the standardisation committee; public consultation; pilot testing; and formal approval of the standards by the Indonesian Forestry Certification Cooperation based on the evidence of consensus reached at the standardisation committee. The IFCC procedures for the standard setting are defined in IFCC PD 1001:2012. The standards are comprehensively reviewed and revised in regular intervals that do not exceed five years. The standards are publicly available.
